Applied Computational Intelligence Laboratory

The Applied Computational Intelligence Laboratory (ACIL) is a collaborative artificial intelligence research laboratory conducting research on a myriad of modern neural network architectures across all learning modalities and across all engineering applications.

Composite Manufacturing Laboratory

The Composite Manufacturing Laboratory has all the major equipment to fabricate fiber-reinforced polymer composite structures. Selection of a method for a particular part, will depend on the materials, the part design and end-use. Specific equipment available for composite part manufacturing are Autoclave, Filament Winding, Pultrusion, Autoclave, Vacuum Infusion, Compression Molding, and Injection Molding. Large scale composite structures such as composite bridge components, complex aircraft structural parts, and housing panels have been constructed using these facilities. Experimental testing facility and structural simulation capability are available to evaluate the performance of the manufactured parts. Current focus includes additive manufacturing of polymer composites, microwave curing and process modeling.

Embedded Systems and Networking Laboratory

The Embedded Systems and Networking Laboratory is a research center ran by Dr. Jagannathan Sarangapani. The laboratory focuses on three areas of study; Wireless and Sensor Networks and Control Issues, Networked control systems, and Neural Network Control.
Innovative Smart & Additive Manufacturing Laboratory

The Innovative Smart & Additive Manufacturing (ISAM) Laboratory conducts research to develop novel smart manufacturing technologies and additive manufacturing processes, and also on the optimization and innovative applications of these and other advanced manufacturing technologies.
Laser Aided Manufacturing Process Laboratory

The Laser-Aided Manufacturing Processes (LAMP) Laboratory is a world-class powder-feed additive manufacturing (AM) laboratory. The Lab has the capabilities of AM process modeling, AM process development, hybrid AM process planning, AM process monitoring and control, and AM part characterization.

Sensor Networks and Dependable Computing

The Sensor Networks and Dependable Computing focuses on three research areas; Modeling and Analysis of Cyber-Physical Critical Infrastructures, Pervasive Computing, and Assurance and Development of Embedded Systems.
SMART Engineering

SMART Engineering has the following objectives: To construct, instrument, and monitor a smart bridge on the Missouri S&T campus as a field experience for students and as a technological demonstration, To create a World Wide Web site for the Internet which features tutorials for the component technologies, multimedia demonstrations from the course, virtual experiments from the teaching laboratory, updated results from the bridge demonstration, and links to other Internet sites related to smart advanced structures.
Wireless to Cloud Computing Laboratory

The W2C lab is designed to carry out cutting edge research in different aspects of data management (security, compression, replication, caching, query processing, aggregation, fusion) over wireless networks and cloud computing . Our focus is on scientific research to advance the state of art in these areas.
