Dr. Xiaosong Du is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the Missouri University of Science and Technology, where he heads the Physical Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (PHLAI Lab).

His research has been focused on machine learning and artificial intelligence, with application emphases on aerospace engineering and other engineering areas.

Before joining Missouri S&T in August 2022, he was a postdoc at the University of Michigan.

He graduated his PhD majoring in Aerospace Engineering at Iowa State University in 2019.
