Dr. Yun Seong Song is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the Missouri University of Science and Technology. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and B.S.E. in Computer Science and Engineering at Seoul National University in 2004, his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 2006, and his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2012. Before joining Missouri S&T, Dr. Song was a postdoctoral researcher at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) from 2012-13 and a postdoc and lecturer at Georgia Tech from 2014-16. Dr. Song is recognized for both excellence in teaching (Faculty Teaching Award) as well as in research (NSF CAREER award). Dr. Song’s work and interests are at the intersection of robotics and biomechanics, including energy harvesting from human movements, rehabilitation robotics, assistive technologies, and physical human-robot interaction.
