Dr. Ryan Smith

Assistant Professor

Geosciences, Geological, and Petroleum Engineering

Dr. Smith studies groundwater resources using satellite and airborne/ground-based geophysical datasets--primarily interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) and electromagnetic (EM) data--as well as in-situ hydrologic data. By integrating these datasets into groundwater models, and analyzing spatial relationships with machine learning methods, he is able to quantify changes in groundwater storage and quality.

Research Interests:

Groundwater resources, remote sensing, airborne and ground-based geophysics, physics-based modeling and machine learning.
